Launch and Learn

Recording of a Virtual Instructor-Led Onboarding Webinar

Overview: This recording is a except of a live virtual training developed as part of an ongoing webinar series for learners enrolled in a cybersecurity bootcamp program. The session was designed to onboard learners to the Career Outcomes team, introduce the support available to them throughout the program, and build confidence as they navigated their career journey. To address common doubts and frequently asked questions, the training featured a program instructor serving as a subject matter expert in cybersecurity, as well as a program alumni who could offer a relatable, firsthand perspective on the learner experience.

Tools: Canva, Google Slides

Considerations: Learners ranged from recent high school graduates to experienced professionals, and many experienced imposter syndrome. To create a more relatable and supportive learning experience, I incorporated an SME and alumni to help learners connect with the material and feel confident in the resources available to them. Polls and chat-based discussion opportunities were also integrated throughout to increase interactivity and engagement. Though not captured in this recording, confidence was measured at the start and end of every session — learners consistently reported a 50%+ increase in confidence in their career readiness from the opening poll to the closing poll.

Process: The SAM Model of Instructional Design

My Role: I developed all training content and facilitator notes, facilitated the live session, and conducted data analysis after each delivery to identify opportunities to improve the learner experience in future iterations.
