Reimaging Your Resume

eLearning Module

Overview: This module is part of an asynchronous career development course designed for cybersecurity learners enrolled in a bootcamp program. The course follows a scaffolded, competency-based learning approach in which learners completed a series of instructional and hands-on activities in earlier modules to build the foundational skills needed for the resume development process.

Assessment: To reinforce skill application, learners submitted their resumes through the LMS for asynchronous feedback using a custom evaluation rubric and structured feedback process.

Tools: Rise 360, Storyline 360, Canva, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

Considerations: Learners range in experience level from recent high school graduates to experienced professionals. Eighty percent of learners are launching or switching careers and have little to no experience writing a technical resume. To create a connected experience for our learners, I designed learning personas aligned to our learners’ career identity status: Career Starter, Career Transformer, and Career Enhancer.

Process: The broader career readiness program and supporting course experiences were developed using the ADDIE instructional design framework. Individual modules, simulations, and learning activities were then designed using the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach to ensure alignment between learning outcomes, assessments, and learner application.

My Role: I designed, developed, and implemented all module content, including resume standards, templates, and sample materials. I also created graphical assets and developed the evaluation standards and feedback framework used to support the asynchronous resume review process.
